Alvin H. Hodges

Mr. Alvin H. Hodges, age 78 of Mountain Home passed away June 6, 2012 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1934 in Lakeview, Arkansas to Otto Hodges and Jessie Sanders Hodges. He married Joan Farless on July 11, 1959 in Gainesville, MO.

He was an outboard motor mechanic and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed reading westerns. His biggest hobby was spending time with his family. Alvin was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Hodges of Mountain Home; a son, Clark Hodges of Mountain Home; 2 daughters: Christy (Terry) Moore of Mountain Home and Connie (Steve) Gunter of Mountain Home; a sister, Evelyn (Winfred) Harris of Citrus Heights, California; 2 brothers: Marvin (Frances) Hodges of Mountain Home and Melton (Janelle) Hodges of Mountain View 4 grandchildren: Tonya (Jason) Daniels, Jessie(Nathan) Moore, B.J. (Amanda)Strong and Cody Gunter; 4 great grandchildren: Kyle, Kiara, Austin and Kearsten. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gregory Alvin Hodges and a brother, Melvin Hodges.

Visitation will be held from 12 until 9 PM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services, conducted by Reverend Dr. Michael Shy will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Roller Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy will follow in Amos Cemetery in Lakeview.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Amos Cemetery or the American Kidney Foundation.
