Archie Still, 80

Archie Still, age 80, of Mountain Home, passed away Monday September 10, 2012 in the Care Manor Nursing Center. Archie was born on April 22, 1932 in Gilbert, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Hovey and Mattie (Watts) Still.

Archie was a Marion /Searcy County native and had made Mountain Home his home since 1973. Many local residents and friends remember him as the owner of Archie's Produce and as a fun-loving, generous, and extremely hard-working man. Archie loved to tell stories as only he could, and always brought smiles and laughter to people. He was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, and beloved brother.

Mr. Still is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of Mountain Home; Three sons: Ken Still and his wife, Carolyn, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Eldon Still and his wife, Penny, of Odessa, Missouri; Edward Still and his wife, Amy, of Springfield, Missouri; One daughter, Marilyn Hall and her husband, Steve, of Sidney, Arkansas; Three brothers: Murphy Still and his wife, Wanda, of Springdale, Arkansas; Deva Still of Ravenden, Arkansas; Clyde Still and his wife, Judy, of Lead Hill, Arkansas; Three sisters: Imogene Reed of Oregon; Neoma Sowells and her husband, W.A., of Clarksville, Arkansas; and Nora Keeter of Yellville, Arkansas. Twelve grandchildren; and Thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene, Still; a son, Brian Still; a sister, Sybil McIntyre; and a brother, Alfred Still.

Visitation will be held at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Eric Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Still Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Still, Eric Still, Gary Still, Jason Still, Doug Keeter, and Murphy Dale Still.
