Burnie L. Morris, 78

Burnie L. Morris, 78, of Greenwood, AR, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in his home. He was retired from Tarrant County, Texas, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War, and a member of the West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.T. and Mildred Rogers Morris; a brother, Austin Morris, and a sister, Lois Cockrum.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Daisy M. Morris; four sons, Tracy L. Morris of Arlington, TX, Bryan N. Morris and wife, Kelley of Euless, TX; Gregory L. Morris and wife, Missy of Greenwood, and Douglas K. Morris and wife, Tanya of Fort Smith; two sisters, Melba Brandon and Carolyn Tilley, both of Gassville, AR; one brother, Oscar Morris of Webb City, MO; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28 at the West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith with burial at 1:00 p.m. at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family will visit with friends at 10:00 a.m. at the church Monday.
