Charles C. Johnson, 90

Charles C. Johnson, 90, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at his home.

He was born May 2, 1921, in Minneapolis, Kansas to the late Charles Alford and Rosalee Haynes Johnson. He married Irene Lula Mann on February 11, 1942, in Minneapolis, Kansas. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. After his military service Charles spent most of his working life as a truck driver for Fairmont Foods and Robert's Dairy in Concordia, Kansas for 30 years and as a farmer. In 1999 he and his wife relocated to Mountain Home from Concordia, Kansas. Charles was of the Methodist faith and was a former member of the Moose Lodge as well as a lifetime member of the V.F.W., in Concordia, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Irene Lula Johnson; his parents; two brothers; two sisters and a great grandchild.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Kay Johnson of Garfield, Larry Jonson of Clay Center, Kansas and Dennis and Brenda Johnson of Mountain Home; 11 grandchildren, Rose Robins, Connie Muniz, Pam Burchfiel, Roy, Brad, Brandy, Brett, Randy, Ryan and Keri Johnson and Stephanie Avery; 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Wiley officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the American Legion Alley-White Post 52 will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks.
