Dewey Kenneth "Red" Coons, 92

Dewey Kenneth "D.K" "Red" Coons, 92, a resident of Isabella, Missouri formerly of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 19, 1919, in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Paul Dewey and Lillian Marie Dunn Coons. Red married Marietta Pollard on March 1, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Red was a superintendent for General Motors Company for 16 years. Red relocated to Isabella, Missouri after retiring in 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marietta Pollard; two brothers, Marvin and Jack Coons and a sister, Betty Evelyn Coons.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Cheryl Coons of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister Yvonne Russell of Theodosia, Missouri; four grandchildren, Linda Jepson of Carney, Missouri, Tracy Vogel of Kansas City, Kansas, Kenneth Coons of St. Joe, Missouri and Julie Coons of Kansas City, Kansas; a special friend, Ruth Klapat of Gainesville, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Theodosia United Methodist Church in Theodosia, Missouri.
