Donald Taylor, 71

Donald Ray Taylor, son of the late Hubert Taylor and Reba Goodson Taylor, was born October 6, 1943 in Wiseman, Arkansas. He departed this life February 13, 2015 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Catherine Sue Rush in Melbourne, Arkansas on May 19, 1961 and to this union two children were born. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. He spent his working years farming, owning and operating Taylor Feed Mill in Franklin, Arkansas for 31 years. He was a tractor enthusiast and was a former member of Izard County Tractor Club, Baxter County Tractor Club and Tri County Tractor Club. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Melbourne.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Catherine Sue Taylor of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Deana Taylor of Franklin; one daughter: Saundra Taylor George of Mountain Home; one brother: Doyle Taylor of Salem; one sister: Mary Garland of Salem; four grandchildren: Sarah Taylor, Molly Taylor, CaRanda Thiessen and husband Bryan and Taylor George; two great grandchildren: Madison Paige George of Conroe, Texas and Brooks Thiessen and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: J.C. Taylor and one sister: Elizabeth Nybakken.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Gene Baird officiating. Burial was at Wiseman Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation was Monday, February 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
