Dorothy Louise Arrington Johnson , of Pyatt, Arkansas passed into glory on September 22, 2015 at 11:45 pm.

She was born on January 11, 1935 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Ruben Lindsey and Louise Bell Arrington. She was the eldest of five children. She married Don R. Johnson on December 7, 1949 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She attended Tularosa High School in Tularosa, New Mexico. Her family moved to Texas in 1957 and then retired to Pyatt, Arkansas in 1995. As an active member of Pyatt Baptist Church she was highly involved in the ladies' group and headed the decorating committee at the church.

While living in Sundown, Texas she was president of the Garden Club for four years, she was the founder and president of Boom Town Days Oilfield Museum and was an active member of First Baptist Church. She was elected Mother of the Year by the city of Sundown. She also served as club mom for 4-H Sundown Rawhide Riders.

In Levelland, Texas she was the president of the Garden Club, a member of Eastern Star, and was an active member of Second Baptist Church. She was a wedding planner and her talents included making beautiful wedding cakes for numerous wedding in West Texas, as well as floral decorations for the weddings.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don R. Johnson of Pyatt, Arkansas; two sons: Dennis R. Johnson and his wife, Laquita, of Midland, Texas; and David L. Johnson and his companion, Lynette Coleman of Flippin, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Matt R. Johnson and his wife, Kristina, of Midland, Texas; and Linsey E. Woodard and her husband, Brad, of Brady, Texas; four great-grandchildren: Lilly Kate; and Tessa Lynn, both of Midland, Texas; and Laney Elizabeth; and Jeremiah Blane, both of Brady, Texas; one sister, Wanda Massey of Aurora, Missouri; one brother, Harold Arrington of McAlester, Oklahoma. She has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Sue Johnson; her parents; one brother, Robert L. Arrington; and one sister, Mary H. Roland; one niece; and two nephews.

Visitation for Dorothy Johnson will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Pyatt Baptist Church in Pyatt, Arkansas with Bro. Mark Vance officiating.

Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in Pyatt, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Ron Cothran, Ron Phillips, Walter McNew, Jesse Moore, Hugh Sills, and Freddie Phillips.
