Elwood (Mo) Mosley,79

Mr. Elwood B. "Mo" Mosley, 79, of Cotter, Arkansas passed away December 27, 2014. He was born June 16, 1935, in Scott, Arkansas to L.J. "Tom" and Pauline Banks Mosley. He played football at Little Rock High (Central) and one year at Arkansas Tech University.

Mr. Mosley was a USAF veteran of the Vietnam War retiring after 20 years of service in 1975 as Tech Sergeant stationed at the Bay Shore, Michigan Radar Site. He retired from his second career in 1990 from Consumers Power Company where he worked as a training instructor then as I&C supervisor. Mo was a member and past president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cotter. He married Theresa Hancock in 1992.

In his retirement years, he professed the Catholic Faith, he cooked for the Charlevoix Soup Kitchen and participated in the RCIA at St Mary's Catholic Church. He and his wife moved to Cotter in 1998. He ministered as RCIA coordinator at St Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church for many years. Mr. Mosley was appointed mayor of Cotter for a short period to finish the term of the mayor who resigned. Mo wrote and published the Trout Capital News for five years. Mo loved woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Cotter, Arkansas; his daughter, Teresa (Ron) Lay of Grove, Oklahoma; a son, Mark (Joy) Mosley of Daytona Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Haden and Kylie Mosley, Chris Williamson, Amber Salyers and Randy Lay; seven great grandchildren, Hayden, Josie and Lilee Mosley, Taylor and Austin Williamson and Ella Salyers; a brother, David Mosley; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Bob) Mosley of Little Rock, Arkansas. Mo is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bob Mosley.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 1, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Robert Crawford officiating.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015, at the St Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
