Ernestine J. Fox, 94,

Ernestine J. Fox, 94, a resident of Gassville, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, at her residence.

She was born November 13, 1917, to the late Galen Johnson and Myrtle Hedden Johnson Witherspoon. Ernestine was raised in Hunter, Arkansas. After graduating high school from Hunter High School she relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where she completed the business program at Droughn's Business School. She worked at E.H. Crump Insurance Company and then at the American Finishing Company in Memphis where she met her late husband, John Stanley Fox. They married in 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. Ernestine and John relocated to the Twin Lakes area in 1992 to be closer to their son. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home. Ernestine is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Stanley Fox; her parents; two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include a son, John B. Fox of Gassville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dora Buzzard of McCordsville, Indiana and Joyce and Kenneth Files of Hunter, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Gadbaw officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
