Fred Strobel Obituary
Fred Oscar Strobel, 93

Fred Oscar Strobel went to his eternal home on November 11, 2013. He lived here 93 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

Fred was born in Venturia, North Dakota on August 2, 1920. He married his childhood sweetheart, Esther Blumhardt. He farmed a few years in Gardner, North Dakota before moving to Fargo, North Dakota, where he worked for Cass-Clay Creamery. Fred moved to Arkansas in 1967. Here he worked at various jobs, but his chief accomplishment was being a spiritual leader to his family. He believed in Jesus as the only way to God and remained a spiritual patriarch to his extended family until he left this earth. Fred was active the majority of his life in various ministry positions in the church. He traveled with his family extensively in musical ministry. He began his ministry in music with his wife and children early in his life and loved to play the guitar and sing. Those who knew him well will remember that he always had a smile on his face and a good, clean joke to tell.

Fred was a member of Peel Full Gospel Church in Peel, Arkansas and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Fred is survived by a brother, George Strobel, of Glendive, Montana; three sisters: Mary Auch, of Greeley, Colorado; Helen Siewart, of Prior Lake, Minnesota; Ardella Miller, of Billings, Montana; his four children: Jerry Strobel and his wife, Theresa; Dianna Erickson, and her husband, Norman, all of Yellville; Betty Emerson, and her husband, Daniel, of Peculiar, Missouri; and Julie Watson, and her husband, Mike, of Lonoke, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Pauline Strobel; his wife, Esther; a brother, Herman "Johnny" Strobel; a sister, Leona Lang; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Mr. Strobel will be Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home.

A homegoing celebration service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carroll Johnson officiating assisted by Bro. Eldon King.
