Georgia Larry Mowery, 86

Georgia Larry Mowery, 86, of Mountain Home, AR, formerly of Ullin, died Monday at Care Manor Nursing Home in Mountain Home.

She was born on April 30, 1925 in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Rev. George C. and Viola (Schroeder) Jurrens. She married Norman Larry in 1947, he preceded her in death in 1980. She then married Bruce Mowery in 1982, he preceded her in death in 2007.

She retired from Wonder Market in Cairo after 32 years of service then worked as a hostess at Crain Funeral Homes from 1986-2002. Georgia, along with her husband, Bruce, and friends Wilda and Dimple made several mission trips to West Virginia to start the Hope Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Ullin.

Georgia was a committed Christian and loved being with her church family and friends. Her beautiful smile was her wonderful trade mark which caused her to never meet a stranger. She loved caring for her family and devoted her entire life in service of giving to others.

She is survived by her son Barney (Debbie) Larry of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey (Dell) Leonard, Bryce Larry all of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Tonya (Shawn) Jenkins of Prattville, Alabama; 2 great grandchildren, Grant & Reid Jenkins; 1 great-great-grandchild, Audrey Jenkins; 2 step-sons, Jeff and David Mowery of Olmsted.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and 1 brother Stanley Jurrens in 2000.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 26, from 4-8 at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 10am at the First Baptist Church in Ullin. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ullin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
