A Memorial Service for Jack Logan Patterson of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be in September 2015, in Salt Lake City, UT with Inurnment at Memorial Park Cemetery of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jack passed away April 8, 2015, after a long term ailment at his home in Lakeview, AR, at the age of 78. He was born March 31, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of William B. and Thelma F. Swenson Patterson. He married Esther Steinmann during the Cold War against Air Force regulations on March 21, 1958, at Darmstadt, Germany and then again on March 21, 1961 in the United States. Jack was a U.S. veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country in Europe for six years. He worked for ten years at D & RGW RR and later worked as a Superintendent for AC Transit in Oakland, CA where he was in the unique position of being a member of the Transportation Union and negotiating union contracts on behalf of management. Jack was an avid reader of LDS History and US History and a great companion to his cats, Bootsie and Missie. He was a life time member of both the American Legion and the VFW. Jack was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) in Salt Lake City, UT, Hayward, CA and Mountain Home, AR.

Jack is survived by his wife, Esther "Chris" Patterson of Lakeview, AR; son, Charles Ray "Chuck" (Kim) Patterson of South Jordan, UT; daughter, Christine Esther Scheeler of Cape Fair, MO; two brothers, Richard Dallin (Anita) Bates and Steven Olson of Riverton, UT; sister, Kay Layton of West Jordan, UT; foster children, Paul P (Kim) Petrarca of Maumelle, AR and Robert W. (Nancy) Steinmann of Kearns, UT; grandchildren, Logan P. Patterson and Cortney Scheeler-Ajayi (AJ); foster grandchildren, Jon-Paul Petrarca, Nicholas J. Petrarca, Michal G. Petrarca, Shantel H. Scheeler-Bettencourt (Frank) and Alicia L. Hopkins-Alberti (Matt) and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick Jack; brother, William Patterson and brother-in-law, Klaus L. Steinmann.

Memorials may be made to the American Air Museum in Britain.
