Jerome Charles Haydam, 69

Jerome Charles "Jerry" Haydam, age 69, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.

He was born August 28, 1943, in Volo, Illinois to Karl A. and Lillian (Vogl) Haydam.

Raised and educated in Volo, Jerry lived most recently in Poplar Grove, IL, and in Midway, Arkansas, splitting time between his sister, Joan, and his brother, Don. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Heppner Manufacturing in Round Lake, IL, Carestoel Nursing Home in McHenry, Illinois, and Bobby's Barrel Inn in Volo, Illinois.

Jerry loved to meet and talk with people, making many friends throughout the years. He loved baseball and football, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed bowling, sometimes bowling up to three times per week while staying with Don. He loved music, dancing, and singing, trains of all kinds, as well as attending the Lake County Fair. He was excited to travel with his family, and was always eager to mow his brother's lawn on the riding mower.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Karla Haydam of Dallas, Pennsylvania, Joan (Gene) Evans of Poplar Grove, Illinois, Margorie (the late Norbert) Krambeer of Grayslake, Illinois, Donald Haydam of Midway, Anita (the late George) Vanderweil, Wonder Lake, Illinois, Arthur (Sandy) Haydam, Katy, Texas, Leon (Celine) Haydam of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Marilyn Haydam of Johnsburg, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Ralph, in 1952.

Visitation was will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home, 2833 Highway 62 West, Mountain Home, Arkansas with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Volo, IL.
