A Memorial Service for Jerry Arthur Burges, 68, of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerrel Venable officiating.

Jerry Arthur Burges went to his heavenly home on May 24, 2012. He was born February 1, 1944, to Roy and Lucile (Bivins) Burges, at Springer, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Forty nine years ago, on March 3, 1963, he married Ruth Parker in Denver, Colorado, where they met while attending electronics college.

Jerry and his wife Ruth owned Jerry's Triangle T.V. in Mountain Home, from 1972 to 1994. Jerry was also an expert woodcrafter, creating unique custom oak furniture to many customers' specifications, as well as for his family, which gave him great joy. After the sale of the business, Jerry worked for a time as a truck driver before retiring.

He knew Jesus as his personal Savior and was a member of Emmanuel Church where he enjoyed playing the saxophone in his younger years as part of the worship team.

Jerry is survived by his wife Ruth, one daughter, Susan (Pat) Halford, of Conway, Arkansas, and one son, Steve (Traci) Burges, of Mountain Home, four grandchildren, Megan Burges Clemence, Rachel Halford, Abby Halford and Cameron Burges. Also surviving are one brother, Robert (Judy) Burges, of Phoenix, Arizona, three sisters, Jewel Aulds of Marshfield, Missouri, Joan Gerstner of Copeland, Kansas, and Snooky (Donald) Brakhage of Boise City, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Burges, Cameron Burges, Robert Burges, Pat Halford, Donald Brakhage, Josh Clemence and Randy Gerstner.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Church.
