Jerry Dean Hicks, 74

Jerry Dean Hicks, son of the late Wilburn Lynn Hicks and Eva Pearl Hall Hicks, was born October 26, 1937 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life November 13, 2011 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 74 years and 18 days.

Jerry was a life long resident of Izard County. He was united in marriage to Linda Grissom on August 4, 1965 in Calico Rock. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was a truck driver. He was employed by Hayes Brothers Trucking, McNeil Trucking and King Trucking. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Arkana Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Hicks of the home; four sons and four daughters-in-law: Larry and Sheila Jones of Hot Springs, Lynn and Anna Hicks of Yellville, Tim and LaRhonda Hicks of Batesville and Tony and Robin Hicks of Berryville; one sister: Francis Russell of Rogers, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Cody Wallace, Brent Jones, Arlin Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Brooklyn Hicks and Destin Jones; two great grandchildren: Alexis Jones and Allie Jones and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Manual Macks officiating. Burial will be at Staggs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 15 from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.

Pallbearers: Anthony Hicks, Timothy Hicks, Lynn Hicks, Larry Jones, Charles Townsend, David McNeil.
