John Bitner

1924 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
John Roland Bitner, 88

On the 10th of December 2012 our beloved John Bitner left our physical world behind for the splendor of the spiritual world. He was the type of man who would always lend a helping hand to whomever he saw in need. We will miss him greatly.

Born in Rush County, Indiana to Roland Fay and Gladys Bitner in 1924, John's family moved north to Hammond, Indiana during the great depression to find work in the nearby steel mills. After serving in the Navy Seabees during WW-2 John began a career in the Mechanical Construction Trades as a Sheet Metal Worker in Indiana that spanned 45 years. As a lifetime avid fisherman he retired in 1989 to Bull Shoals, Arkansas where he loved the fishing and outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Patsy-Petty Bitner, his nephew Jerry Bitner of Round Rock, Texas, his great nephew John C. Bitner of Colorado Springs, CO., three step children-Cathy Duba of Maine, Kevin Lilly of Moscow, Indaho and Dr. Joe Duba of New York, and great great nephew John H. Bitner of Colorado Springs.

Memorials may be sent to the Hospice House in Mountain Home.
