John Webster Blunt, 98
John Webster Blunt, age 98, of Mountain Home, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home.
Mr. Blunt was born April 6, 1916 in Lusby, Maryland to the late John W. and Nettie (Breeden) Blunt. Staff Sergeant Blunt served in WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam Wars. During WWII he was appointed Diplomatic Courier personally by the President. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting since childhood. Staff Sergeant Blunt moved to Rea Valley, Arkansas from Savannah, Georgia then to Baxter Retirement Village in Mountain Home Arkansas.
John Blunt is survived by his wife, Ann L. Blunt of 69 years, of Flippin, Arkansas; one son, John W. Blunt and his wife, Jody, of Jacksonville, Florida; and one daughter, Diane Stoinoff and her husband, Jeff, of Rea Valley Arkansas; three grandchildren: David McGraw of Flippin, Arkansas; Jennifer Weimann and her husband, Phillip, of Jacksonville, Florida; and Laura Taylor and her husband, Tim, of Neptune Beach, Florida; and one great-granddaughter, Theia Taylor.
A graveside service will be Monday, April 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Flippin Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas with J. W. Ott officiating.
Friends and family will meet at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville at noon Monday.
