Lowell Lueck, 94

Lowell Edward "Red" Lueck, age 94, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, in Mountain Home.

He was born September 30, 1916, in Arcadia, Nebraska, to Carl Henry and Virgie May DeWitt Lueck. He moved to Mountain Home in 1948 from Nebraska and operated a cattle farm with his dad for many years. On November 2, 1950, he married Nettie Lou Hayes at Cotter, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Mr. Lueck worked on the construction of Bull Shoals Dam and retired from the Department of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years of service in the Mountain Home Office. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working with his hands.

Survivors are a son: Norman (Kathy) Lueck: Mountain Home; a daughter: Marilyn (Michael) Stenbeck: Littleton, Colorado; a sister: Donna Terwilliger: Aurora, Colorado; four grandchildren: Matthew and Nathan (Monica) Lueck; Mark and Megan Stenbeck; two great-grandchildren: Laney and Lindy Lueck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; his wife, Nettie Lou, on January 27, 2011; one brother and one sister.

Visitation was Sunday from Noon-9P.M. at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2011, in the Roller Chapel with Preacher Gene McCoy and Pastor Lewis Godby officiating. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
