Jane Barnes, 81

Margaret Jane Bodenhamer Barnes, 81, of The Legacy of Anderson, widow of Jack W. Barnes, Sr., died Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Born February 3, 1931 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Horatio Record "Rex" and Jewell Herrod Bodenhamer. She was a retired music teacher. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Anderson County Entertainers and the Hope and Remembrance Choir. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School Class, and sang in the Baraca Chorus and the church choir.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Marie Barnes Stutler and husband, Kurt Stutler of Anderson; son, Jack Westbrook Barnes, Jr. and wife, Karen Housley Barnes of Anderson; five grandchildren, Michael Dale Powell and wife, Tamara Joann Powell, David Anthony Powell, Kathryn Kelly Barnes Gallman and husband, Erik Gallman, Christian Westbrook Barnes, and Nathaniel Armour Barnes; and one great granddaughter, Olivia Morgan Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kurt Stutler and Dr. James R. Thomason. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of Kurt and Jean Marie Stutler, 307 Cumberland Way, Anderson.
