Mary Breckenridge Pilcher Obituary
Mary Breckenridge Pilcher, 70

Mary Breckenridge Pilcher, 70, of Cotter, AR passed away, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Mountain Home, AR. Mary is survived by her husband, Jimmie Pilcher; one daughter Amanda Lawrence (Saben) of Mountain Home, AR; stepson, Wade Pilcher (Meredith) of Florien, LA; stepdaughter, Kim Pilcher of Houston, TX; one brother, John Rorison (Carolyn) of Lounea, New South Wales, Australia; four grandchildren, Carrick and Talan Pilcher, Reece Lawrence and Mikayla Cox; impending arrival of grandson, Rorison Lawrence (in June) and two great-grandsons, Boston and Braxton Pilcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Ara; infant twin sons; sister, Nancy Rorison Northcote and grandson, Kelby Pilcher.

Mary was born in Dreghorn Ayshire, Scotland on April 21, 1945 to William and Helen Littlejohn Rorison. At the age of five, her family moved, via ship, to New South Wales, Australia where she grew up. On her own at the age of eighteen, Mary moved to Europe and began a career managing franchised fitness centers for several years. This job took her all over Europe. In 1976 she met Jimmie Pilcher in Singapore. They married on September 2, 1976, and she left her job to travel with him. Jimmie worked in offshore drilling and this led them to travel the world together. This included Mary's country of birth, Scotland, and lastly to Fortaleza, Brazil where Amanda was born. Shortly after, they relocated to Louisiana, Jim's home state. Later, they settled in Baxter County Arkansas, where she lived for almost thirty years.

Mary's hobbies included reading, knitting and working in the yard. Her love for books showed through years of working and volunteering at the Baxter County Library, right until the very end. She also loved to babysit her grandson Reece. She had much patience for him, reading to him and getting him ready for kindergarten. She loved the Lord and was a member of Gassville Baptist Church.

Memorials can be made in her name to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Dr., Mountain Home, AR 72653 or Gassville Baptist Church, 508 East Main Street, Gassville, AR 72635.

Local arrangements are by Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Gassville Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Wise officiating. An online guestbook and obituary are available at www.connerfamilyfuneralhome.com.
