Max Dingler, 86, a resident of Mountain Home passed peacefully Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Mountain Home with family at his side.
He was born January 27, 1927, in Liberty, Alabama to the late, Corbie and Violet Dingler. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Max loved sports, fishing, poker and gardening.
Max was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 66 years, Dorothy; his parents; a daughter-in-law, Judy Dingler; five brothers, Carnal, Delmer, William, Calvin and Johnny; two sisters, Mildred and Dollie Mae and a granddaughter, Dawn Kirkland.
Survivors include his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Dingler of Sycamore, Illinois and Max and Alissa Dingler of Houston, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Louise and Jerry Stancil of Mountain Home, Diane and Allen Novotny of Mountain Home and Juanita "Nita" and James Srkala of Katy, Texas; seven grandchildren, Scarlet Brady of Malta, Illinois, Rob Kirkland of New Port Richey, Florida, Wendi Kirkland of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Melanie Beam of Mountain Home, Crystal Novotny of Mountain Home, James Srkala of Spring, Texas and Ashley Dingler of Houston, Texas; seven great grandchildren; the family dog, Tasha and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Hughes officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ozark Post 3246 and the United States Army Honor Guard. Burial will be private under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
