Michael Jay Gilley, 56

Michael Jay Gilley, age 56, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home.

Michael was born September 9, 1959 in Yakima, Washington to the late Coy Edward and Lore (Hofmann) Gilley. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1977 graduate of Yellville-Summit High School where he played on the football team. He was self-employed as a dump truck driver. Michael was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and he liked motorcycles, trucking, and hunting.

Mr. Gilley is survived by his wife, Carla, of the home; his step-son Cory Mathis and his wife, Catherine, of Summit, Arkansas; his step-daughter, Lauren Dewey of Springfield, Missouri; four brothers: Roger Gilley and his wife, Shawn, of Gassville, Arkansas; Kenny Gilley and his wife, Christie; Danny Gilley and his wife, Jimmie Sue; and Kelley Gilley and his wife, Lisa; all of Yellville, Arkansas; two sisters: Petra Pershall and her husband, Danny, of Yellville, Arkansas; and Robin Skidmore and her husband, Todd, of Bentonville, Arkansas; one grandchild, Gibson Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Michael Gilley will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Jack Jefferson officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Yellville. Pallbearers will be Roger Gilley, Kenny Gilley, Kelley Gilley, Danny Gilley, Todd Skidmore, and Danny Pershall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Goose Brightwell, Marty Smith, Ronnie Gregory, Tom Davenport, Aaron "HD" Collins, Brady Madden, Isaac Lynch, Trevin Milligan, and Heath Davenport.
