Natalie Dyer Reynolds

Rome, Georgia - Natalie Dyer Reynolds, born in Mountain Home, Arkansas, February 24, 1924.

Natalie died Thursday, November 24, 2011 in Rome, GA. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Goodwin Dyer and Nat Truman Dyer. She graduated from Mountain Home High School. She attended the Music College in Conway and was a graduate of the prestigious Westminister Music College in Princeton, New Jersey.

Natalie then spent over sixty years as a wife, mother, music teacher, choir director, singing in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and serving as Adjunct Professor of Voice at Shorter College in Rome where she and George established the Natalie Dyer Reynolds Endowment Scholarship. It is awarded to an outstanding voice or piano student at Shorter.

She is survived by her husband, George of 60 years of marriage, her son, Neal Reynolds and wife Myra of Rome, her daughter Ruth Ann Reynolds of Chattanoga, TN, her granddaughters Natalie and Morgan Reynolds and 3 generations of nieces and nephews.

Natalie was the oldest of six girls. Her surviving sisters are Ruth Carter of Atlanta, Joan Boerner of North Little Rock, O'Nolda Tabor of Smackover, Ida Marie Lewis of Little Rock and Myrtle Offutt of Hot Springs.

A memorial service celebrating Natalie's life was held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Rome, GA. Memorial contributions may be given to the Music Ministry of the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1189, Rome, GA 30162
