Richard C. Ray, 73

Richard C. Ray, age 73, of Summit, Arkansas passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Richard was born May 12, 1942 in Leachville, Arkansas to the late Eulis Cleo and Una Geneva (Martin) Ray. He was a 1961 graduate of Cotter High School and had worked as a foreman and installer for Yelcot Telephone Company for 15 years, NATCO for 16 years, and in Oklahoma for 7 years. He was a former fire chief with Summit Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of Cotter and Gassville Fire Departments, was a member of the Cotter Masonic Lodge and a former councilman for the city of Summit. He attended Cotter Church of Christ, and due to his illness he and Mary began to attend Broadway Church of Christ. Richard loved his kids, fishing, old Chevys, his family, and his wife of 36 years.

Mr. Ray is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; three sons: Richard A. Ray of Bryant, Arkansas; Mark Ray of Gassville, Arkansas; Shawn Ray of Summit, Arkansas; a brother, Larry Ray and his wife, Kae, of Carthage, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Jessica Harrison.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Davidson.

A Gathering of Remembrance for Richard will be Monday, December 14, 2015 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville, Arkansas.
