Roger Lee Soltysik, 70

Visitation for Roger Lee Soltysik of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Frietag-Reeves Baskerville Funeral Home, Wilmington, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.. Roger died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 70.

Roger was born October 1, 1941 in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Myrtle Ellison Soltysik. He married Lucille Lawhorn on September 4, 1965 at Custer Park, IL, where they lived and started their family. He worked in Communications for the United States Government. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Roger lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 13 years, moving from Lebanon, IL. He was a member of the Oakland/Promiseland Fire Department, and was an active member of the Republican Party.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Mountain Home, AR; 5 children, Tina (Don) Adcock, of Plainfield, IL, Christopher (Stephanie) Soltysik, of Mannasas, VA, Becky (Robert) Ketrow, of Trenton, IL, Mary (Kirk) Pearson, of Shawnee, KS, and Wendi (Steven) Jones, of O'Fallon, IL; 4 sisters, Colleen (Don) Dodson, of Texaco, IL, Phyllis (Kenneth) Schewe, Wilmington, IL, Susan (Terry) Frost, of Wilmington, IL, and Pam (Jack) McGowan, of Dunnellon, FL, 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his dachshund, Sammie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
