Ronnie Vallee Jefferson, 77

Ronnie Vallee Jefferson, 77, of Brookline Station, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013. He was born February 14, 1935, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Gurvis and Iva (Hazellet) Jefferson.

After school, he lived in Fayetteville and then entered the United States Navy in 1952. Ronnie served at numerous air stations and squadrons from Norfolk, Virginia, to Iwakumi, Japan, while performing various missions during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He proudly served his country for 22 years. After, retirement he worked for Capital Mercury Shirt Company in Gassville, AR, for another 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Jefferson; and first wife, Cleta (Cunningham) Jefferson.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Thelma (Hardy) Jefferson; children, Ronnie Jr. Jefferson, Barbara Bostick and husband James, Karron Johnson, Toby Weidner, and Sandra Menfee; grandchildren, Ashley, Ivy, Megan, and Donoven; great-grandchildren, Mason, Nathan, and Gabrielle; siblings, Ivan, JoEllen, Phillip, Charley, and Danny Jefferson; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Sue & Mike McWilliams.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2013, in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 7, 2013, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield with full Military Honors.
