Sandra Karl Obituary
Sandra Karl, 87

Mom was born August 14, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Leon and Irene Wilson and peacefully left us on November 21, 2013.

She graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1944.

She married George Andre Karl, Jr. on April 5th, 1947 and had six children.

She was enthusiastically involved on the school boards of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downers Grove, IL and Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park, IL.

Mom was named Woman of the Year by the St. Joseph CCW and volunteered as hot dog lady on our beloved monthly hot dog days and as the reading teacher at our St. Joe's Elementary.

She was a dental assistant until she became our mom. As a homemaker, she ran a tight ship and managed her home with loving precision. From 1973-1976, she co-owned the Country Charm in Yorkville, IL., co-managed the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, IL., provided in-home health care to many elderly, held multiple management positions and assisted Doris Parker Realty as a receptionist for 17 years.

She loved to garden, read her devotionals, give away what she could, bake irresistible desserts like her rum cake to share with others and watch Mark Harmon on NCIS.

She was an impeccable dresser, full of grace and elegance, always communicating care in her appearance.

She motivated us to do our best at whatever our endeavor,

sometimes brutally honest, strongly encouraging our independence.

She is survived by her two brothers and two sisters - Robert (Jean), Irene, Audrey and Donald (Molly).

She is also survived by her six children - Marlene (Curt), Andrew (Tracie), Peggy (Deborah), Matthew (Lisa), Bradley (Michelle) and Karen (Michelle).

She was Muzzy to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

We will see her again when Christ returns.

But until then we will deeply miss her.

Memorial Mass November 30, 2013 11:00 A.M.

St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, 249 Dyer St. Mountain Home, Arkansas.
