Virginia C. Hurst, 90
Virginia C. Hurst, age 90, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013, at Pine Lane Therapy in Mountain Home. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at First Christian Church with Reverend Lewis Godby officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church on Thursday.
Virginia was born March 23, 1923, in Wellsville, Missouri to Hugh and Virginia Copeland. She was a lifetime area native, having moved here as a child when her mother came here to own and manage the Mountain Home Telephone Company. She studied at New York School of Design in New York and owned her interior design business, Hurst House Interiors. She was a member of the Arkansas Society of Interior Designers and Tau Gamma Gamma-a Federation of Women Club. She was a Christian and a longtime member of First Christian Church in Mountain Home. She was married to Robert E. Hurst, longtime water superintendent of Mountain Home.
She is survived by her son: Robert R. Hurst (and wife Sharon); a grandson: Brad Hurst (and wife Debbie); a granddaughter: Becca Persenaire (and husband T.J.): all of Mountain Home; and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Harriett Hurst and a sister: Yvonne Gates.
