Walter Ralph Hellein, 89

Walter Ralph Hellein, 89 of Mountain Home died Saturday, June 18th, 2011, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A son of the late Water and Lillian Hellein, he was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Walter was married to his loving wife Betty Jo (Thomas) Hellein for 60 wonderful years. He was a superintendant of the road department in Lancaster, CA. They retired to Arizona and built a home in Gold Canyon. They were "rock hounds" and enjoyed making jewelry together. They attended First Baptist Church and were blessed with lots of friends.

Walter "Pops" Hellein is survived by 4 brothers: William, Don, Dale, & Russell Hellein; and 2 sisters: Marylou (Hellein) McBride and Lois (Hellein) Bierbower. He is also survived by 2 daughters: Bonnie (Hellein) Obering and her husband Rodger, and Kathy (Hellein) Thomas and her husband Harry, and one son: Walter Lynn Hellein and his wife Kathy. Walter also has 7 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, Walter was preceded in death by wives Betty Jo and Marian Hellein; daughter Virginia Lee Hellein, and sister Lorraine.

Walter was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He loved helping people and had a happy heart.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at First Baptist Church; officiated by Pastors David Johnson and Max Pyron, at 11AM Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center. Cremation arrangements are by Twin Lakes Cremation Society and Funeral Home.
