William G. "Pappy" Miles, 82

Retired Arkansas State Police Cpl. William G. "Pappy" Miles, age 82, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Mountain Home. He was born September 20, 1929 in Paragould, Arkansas to Wiley Noon and Jessie Mable (Stewart) Miles.

Mr. Miles married Joyce W. Cupp February 24, 1962 in Paragould, Arkansas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from the Arkansas State Police in 1983 after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, North Central Arkansas Veterans Council American Legion Post #52 and Ozark VFW Post #3246 and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Mr. Miles is survived by his wife: Joyce Miles of Mountain Home, a son: Keith Miles and wife Michelle of Bartlett, Tennessee, two daughters: Georgia Dellinger and husband Roy of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Beverly Sandvos and husband Rick of Columbia, Missouri, a sister: Beatrice Manning, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Fleta Wofford.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Roller Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from Noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Roller Chapel.
