William "Bill" Short, 73

William "Bill" Short, 73, a resident of Caulfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 29, 1940, in Rolla, Missouri to the late John August and Mamie Ethel (Herring) Short. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Julia Benton on November 19, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bill was employed for 30 years at Baxter Regional Medical Center as the construction engineer until his retirement in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joanne Motz.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Julia Short of Caulfield, Missouri; a son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Pam Short of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steve Morey of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Eugene Fluke of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul L. and Lou Benton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Zachary, Adam and Nick Morey, all of Edmond, Oklahoma and Max, Sophia and Sam Short, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Locally the family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
