A Private Family Funeral Service for Robert Clarke of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Robert passed away February 26, 2013, in Mountain Home at the age of 87. He was born August 2, 1925, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, the son of Sydney and Ann Smith Clarke. He married Delvet Sattler on October 25, 1947, at Yankton, SD, and served as a General Superintendent and Engineering Consultant in many major construction projects throughout the country. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He lived in Mountain Home since 1983, moving from Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. He enjoyed travel, camping and being outdoors taking care of his farm.
Robert is survived by his son, Dr. James (Denise) Clarke of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Betty Nelson, of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Cynthia (Dennis) Fehrenbach of Little Rock, AR, Lieutenant Robert (Michelle) Clarke of Bartlett, TN, Dr. Michael Clarke of Evanston, IL and Courtney Clarke of Russellville, AR; great-grandson, Reece Fehrenbach and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Michael Clarke, and three brothers, Arthur, Kenneth and Howard Clarke.
Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
