William (Bill) Richard Larsen, 73

The Celebration of Life for William (Bill) Richard Larsen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, April 26, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vince Daniel, officiating. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and Military Honors will be by the Ozarks V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard. Elks Services by Lodge #1714 BPOE.

Bill was born April 11, 1940, in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Paul and Elsie (Hansen Sand) Larsen. He is survived by his loving wife Jeri (Johnson) whom he married on October 20, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bill is also survived by two daughters, Kristin (Craig Spidle) Larsen of Chicago, IL and Michaela (Scott) Nicholas of Canton, MI, brother, Laurance Paul Larsen of Racine, WI, grandchildren, Kyler and Tara Nicholas and brother-in-law, Robert Johnson of Mountain Home, AR.

Bill was the owner and operator of Larsen Construction Company located in Homer Township, Illinois where he lived and served as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Homer Men's Club, and the Homer Planning Commission until he moved to Mountain Home in 1998.

At the time of his sudden death, Bill was an active member of the Elks Lodge # 1714, and also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Wisconsin Club, where he often volunteered his skills in the kitchen and behind the bar. Bill loved to garden, cook and bake and was best known for his BBQ Pork, Brisket and Breads.

Bill passed away April 21, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 73.

Bill was a lover of animals, rescuing many over the years: Memorials in Bill's honor may be made to the North Central Arkansas Humane Society.
