Lawrence H. Haines

Lawrence H. Haines age 81 of Mountain Home, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Mountain Home. Mr. Haines was born January 8, 1932 in Pinehurst, North Carolina to Willis and Helen (Taylor-Earl) Haines. He married his wife, Virginia, in Pierz, Minnesota on October 18, 1956. Mr. Haines served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After retirement from the Air Force, he was the Superintendent for the Parks and Recreation Department at Brainerd, Minnesota. He retired in 1988 after 18 years of service. Mr. Haines was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, the America Legion Post # 52, the VFW Post #3246, where he was a past Commander, and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 1714. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time with friends at the VFW and Elks Lodge.

Lawrence H. Haines is survived by his wife, Virginia Haines, of the home, a son, Robert Lewis Haines of Oakdale, Minnesota, a daughter, Barbara Anne Roquette of Hammond, Wisconsin, and a brother, Robert Haines of Crystal Lake, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Audrey Davidson.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Stan Swiderski as celebrant. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter's Building fund or the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
