Calvin Cleaver Obituary
Visitation for Calvin Frances Cleaver will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 6pm - 8pm at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO with Grandson Timothy Scott Bowen officiating. Pallbearers were Matthew Myler, Rusty Krupp, Ryan Cleaver, Robert Williams, Jamie McDaniel and Samantha Myler. Interment will be in Oakside Cemetery in Summersville, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home, LLC of Mountain View, MO.
Calvin Frances Cleaver was born September 17, 1932 at Summersville, MO the son of Eugene Flynn Cleaver and Zelpha (Busbey) Cleaver. He passed away August 17, 2016 at Mountain Home, AR at the age of 83 years.
Calvin was united in marriage to Minnie Maybelline Terrill on August 12, 1950 at Mountain Home, AR and to this union five children were born.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; Flynn and Zelpha Cleaver; his wife Minnie Maybelline Cleaver; two grandsons Jeffrey Scott McDaniel and Mikael Douglas Hodges; and one brother Franklin D. Cleaver.
Calvin is survived by one son Carlos Cleaver and wife Linda of Labadie, MO; four daughters Janice Fleming of Midway, AR, Charlotte Bowen and husband Randy of Valley Park, MO, Brenda Myler and husband Robert of Mountain Home, AR and Valeory Hodges of Mountain Home, AR; one sister Dorothy Parvin and husband Gary of Kirwood, MO; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Calvin attended the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mountain Home, AR. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Calvin was a firefighter and engineer at the Kirkwood Fire Department before retiring after 25 years of service. Calvin will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him
