Carol Ann Carver Graves, 74 of Kerrville, Texas, passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 24, 2016, surrounded by family.

Carol was born March 29, 1942 to Mary and Sam Carver in Wynne, Arkansas. Carol was the oldest of 9 children. On March 4, 1978 Carol married the love of her life Charles George Graves and resided in Seabrook, Texas for 37 years. Carol loved working with small children her entire life. Carol was the Children's Ministries Director, Assistant Director for Children's Day Out, and Editor of the Church Newsletter for many years for Seabrook United Methodist Church. After retiring from Seabrook United Methodist Church Carol decided to go back to College and earned her Associates of Applied Science Child Development Early Childhood Education, with Certificates in Technology Child Development and Family Studies and Child Care Administrator's Credential Occupational in May 2004 from San Jacinto College Central, Pasadena, Texas. Carol worked for San Jacinto Central at their Child Development Center for many years and finally retired in 2013 and moved to Kerrville, Texas with her husband Charles. When Carol was not working she devoted her time and attention to her husband, her children, her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Carol was a loving, caring and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Carol's entire life she always put others before herself. She will be missed greatly and forever loved deeply by all.

Carol is preceded in death by her father, Sam Lanier Carver, her son, Sam Lanier Graves, and her brother Tommy Lanier Carver.

Carol is survived by her best friend and husband of 40 years Charles George Graves. Daughter, Bethanie Ann Miller and husband Randy, Step-Daughters, Joyce Walker and husband Steve, Angie Graves and husband Walt Weathersby, Charla Pitts, Daughter and Grandson in every way but blood, Judith Bledsoe Andriko and husband Stephen and son, Troy Finke. Sisters, Bonnie Butler and husband Chris, Shirley Huff and husband Jack, Barbara Shaw, Mary Sam Miller and husband Bill; Brothers, Hazen Carver and wife, Loren, Jan Caver and wife Gwen, Sandy Carver and wife Stacey. Sister-in-law, Kermit Graves Grace. Grandchildren, Samantha, Justin Henry, Justin Charles, Max, Austin, Matias, Sebastian, Sydney, Amanda, Beau, Jordan Krill and husband Joseph, Cara, Nelda, Travis Burnett and wife Cara; Great-Grandchildren, Trey, Isabella, Aubree, Ethan, Emily, Allysyn, Ayden, Giana, Jazmin-Ray, Daymeon, Devon, Demitri, Luke and two great-grandchildren due in 2017; her two fur-children, Carlos and Cricket; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

On Carol's behalf, her family extends deep appreciation to Dr. Rebecca Barrington and her staff at Texas Oncology, Dr. Michael Grocki and his staff, Dr. Michael Rensch and his staff, Doctors and Nurses at Peterson Regional Medical Center of Kerrville, Texas, and the Doctors and Nurses at Peterson Hospice of Kerrville, Texas. We also would like to extend appreciation and many thanks to all Carol's friends and family who reached out to her through cards, letters, flowers, love and prayers. We are forever deeply thankful and grateful.

Friends and Family are cordially invited to a Celebration of Life Service for Carol on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at Seabrook United Methodist Church, 3300 Lakeside Drive, Seabrook, Texas 77586.

For those wishing to send flowers or plants the Family of Carol Graves has requested that Lary's Florist of Friendswood, Texas be the Florist to contact for flowers and/or plants.
