Duncan B. MacGregor, a systems analyst and section manager for the American National Insurance Company in Galveston for nearly 25 years, died Dec. 1 at his home in Peachtree Corners, Ga. He was 80.
Born in Chicago, MacGregor graduated from Millikin University in 1959 with a B.S. degree in Education. He received an M.S. from Illinois State University in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956.
MacGregor moved to Clear Lake City in 1976. An avid runner, MacGregor was active in the Bay Area Running Club and served on the Houston Marathon finish line committee. He served as an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 870 in the late-1970s. Following his retirement in 1999, MacGregor returned to the Atlanta area.
MacGregor is survived by his wife, Carol, of Peachtree Corners, Ga.; a brother, Robert G. MacGregor, of Payson, Ariz.; a daughter, Elizabeth MacGregor, of Vienna, Va.; two sons, Duncan, of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Robert W., of The Hague, Netherlands, two granddaughters and a grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Norcross Presbyterian Church, Norcross, Ga. on Jan. 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. Interment private.
