Joyce L. Miles Wade, born April 5, 1930 in Belgique Missouri to Hubert John and Sarah Mattingly Miles, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2013. Her longtime husband, William J. Wade, predeceased her, as did her daughter Kay Ellen Wade. Her survivors include Miles, his wife Ellen, their children, Natalie and Andy and his daughter Shara; Dee Ann Meyer and her children Harold and Patrick; Margaret; Marie; and Scott and his son, Raymond. She also leaves behind nieces Donna and Darlene and nephews Anthony and Danny, as well as a large number of friends from her church, St. Bernadette's and from her long social life around Clear Lake City and Webster.
She was a hard worker, even after retirement from the Webster Post Office. She worked for Hancock's Fabrics and as a freelance seamstress, sewing teacher and designer. She volunteered at Brazos Bend Park, at St. Bernadette's Church and others. In her retirement, she learned to make stained glass and traditional quilts.
With her trademark cheerful attitude, she made friends everywhere she went. She may already be a social director in her new Abode.
