Kenneth Leland Gerken, born in Duluth Minnesota on July 4,1941. He has gone to join his parents, Walter and Corrine Gerken, his brothers Harold and Clarence. He leaves his wife Pauline, daughter Jennifer McDonough and spouse Michael, son Erik and spouse Jennifer. His wonderful grandchildren, Jacob and Emma McDonough, Jack and Reid Gerken who were the light in his life. Ken also leaves behind his sisters Dorothy and Barbara. Many nieces and nephews. Ken lived his life to the fullest. He had an outstanding career in the Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He then went on to a successful career as a Marketing Director for Lockheed. After his second retirement Ken continued his next adventure into cyberspace and became a self taught webmaster. He shared his talents as a volunteer doing the City of Nassau Bay web site, TAACL site and many others. Throughout his life, Ken always took the opportunity to feed his creative passions. He attended the theatre often, passing its appreciation onto his children. Ken taught himself the art of stained glass and other mediums. He endeavored to study and memorialize the family history through his latest passion of genealogy. Ken always sought to augment his talent as a self made sommelier. Ken loved to travel and he and Pauline burned up the airways to Italy and had many exciting cruises to exotic places. Visitation and wake service, were held on Mon. April 30, 2012 and the Funeral Mass followed on May 1st at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Internment was Houston National Cemetery.
