Michael "Mike" K. Harreld of Lake Jackson, Texas, a former resident of the Clear Lake Area, passed away on Friday July 11, 2014 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital.
Mike was born April 11, 1940 in Hazel Park, Michigan to Leamon and Ollie (Sheppard) Harreld who were from Cromwell, Kentucky. Mike graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1958 then went to work for Hollywood Grocery in Royal Oak, MI. In 1961 he went to work for DeVlieg Machine Company in Royal Oak and worked there until 1974 when he and his family moved to Texas. He went to work for the United Parcel Service (UPS) in Brazoria County, Texas, where he retired from in 2002.
Mike was always active in church ministry and attended Nassau Bay Baptist with his family while they lived in Clear Lake. Mike relocated to Lake Jackson in 1995 where he and his wife, Aver started "Harreld of Praise Ministries" and went into full time music ministry. Mike was also a classic car enthusiast and would talk "cars" with anyone!
He is survived by his wife Aver K. Harreld of Lake Jackson, Texas, his daughters: Deanna Jackson, husband Ron of Eagle River, Alaska, Cindy Harreld of Nassau Bay, Texas, His son Michael L. Harreld, wife Ilianna of Palmdale, California. Aver's children, Tonya Ankenbruck husband David of Pearland, Texas and Wayne Thomas wife Trisha of West Columbia, Texas.
Grandchildren: Ryan, Iris (Williams), Bradford, Kyle, Alan Jackson and Brandon Wilkes. Dylan and Chandler Thomas and Cole Aukenbruck.
Great grandchildren: Kiara and Abigail Jackson, Tobias, Aubrietta and Trygg Williams, soon to be born Seth Wyatt Jackson and Andrew Wilkes.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leamon and Ollie (Sheppard) Harreld.
