William (Bill) Spencer Palmer, 79, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home in Seabrook, Texas, with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer. Born June 10, 1935 in Jonesville Virginia and raised in Ohio. William attended Ohio State University receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering. After college, William was an officer in the Army working on Chemical Warfare where he left the service as a Captain. William worked in the private sector as a chemical engineer and had a passion for environmental causes. His passion took him to Hong Kong, France, New Jersey, Brazil and other various parts of the world. After 40 years in the chemical field William pursued his entrepreneurial sprit and opened an automotive store in La Porte, TX where he has run his business for 18 years with wife, Michele.
William is preceded by mother, Lola Rigsby; sister, Wilma Cosgrove, and son Bartley Palmer.
William is survived by loving wife, Michele; sons, Christopher and Jon-Davy; sisters, Fern Gardner and Geraldine Clark; daughters in law, Nancy and Lauren Palmer along with beloved nieces, Darlene Rhodes and Anne Laure Bottego.
William was a compassionate person who never met a stranger and loved family time and spending his days with his grandson and nephew, Carson Palmer and Allen Bottego III. He will be severely missed by his family and friends that he held so dear.
Guests are invited to share in the Celebration of Life Visitation for Mr. William Palmer from 1- 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20th, 2014 with a 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service to follow at Carnes Funeral Home -Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591.
