89, of El Lago, Texas passed away on March 27, 2015. He was born on August 22, 1925 in Hays, Kansas to William Wallace Doak and Mabel Eva Cole Doak. William was preceded in death by his son, Donovan Bruce Doak in 2009. He is survived by his: loving wife of 62 years, Madeline McLean Doak; son, Michael Welch Doak; daughter, Madeline Colleen Doak Thomas; grandson, Christopher Michael Thomas and his wife Melissa Murphy Thomas; and great-granddaughters, Caidyn Maura and Madeline Aura Thomas.

William graduated from the Colorado Military Academy (Denver, CO) and went on to earn a B.S. at Baylor University (Waco, TX). In 1943 when his country called William joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served with the 4th Division, A Company, 25th Regiment, in the battles of Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima (2nd Wave) against the enemy. Interment with full military honors (by VFW Dist 4) will take place at Houston National Cemetery.
