John E. Berwick, 72, of Winnie, died January 19, 2013, at his home in Winnie surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Beaumont to Hart and Olite Berwick on June 29, 1940. John was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and was the owner of Winnie Mini Storage. He worked as an electrician in the Golden Triangle area for thirty plus years at Unocal and taught his craft at Lamar Institute of Technology. John was an avid motorcyclist, square dancer and loved to listen and dance to zydeco music. After learning to square dance, he traveled all over the United States attending square dance conventions. Survivors include his wife, Lois Berwick, of Winnie; children, Denise Ducote and her husband, Mike, of Bridge City and Darrell Berwick and his wife, Pat, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kathryn Katie Bug Berwick of Winnie; Aaron Berwick of Cypress; Michael Fasulo of Nederland; Blaine Fasulo and his wife, Heather, of Port Neches; D.J. Darrell Berwick; and Jonathan Berwick, both of Beaumont; great- grandson, Max Fasulo; sister, Mary Nita Wing, of Lake Jackson; brother, Ronnie Berwick of Beaumont; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Angel. He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Allen Berwick; and parents. A casual gathering of Mr. Berwick's family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Broussard's. His committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont. Our Wathen family lived next door to the Berwicks on Glasshouse. We were the ones with all the roses. Our family sends our love to Ronnie and all the Berwicks. We will hold you in our prayers.
