Alice Jane Carlson Funeral services for Alice Jane Carlson, 83, of Beaumont, will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with Rev. David Goolsby, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of friends and family will be Monday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Carlson was born June 30, 1929 in Kountze, TX to the late Luther Edward and Nora Alice (Hazlip) O'Dell and went to be with her Lord on February 17, 2013 at Calder Woods in Beaumont. A resident of Beaumont since 1942, she was a retired clerk with Ford Motor Credit Company and a member of North End Baptist Church where she, and her husband, were leaders of the Keenagers group. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Elof G. Sonny Carlson of Beaumont; daughter, Nelda Jones and husband, Tom, of Beaumont; sons, Ronnie Hartman and wife, Alice, of Bryan, Scott Hartman and wife, Mary Helen, of Humble, Richard Hartman of Austin; step-children, Russell Carlson of Buffalo, NY, Theresa Ledsome and husband, Jeff, of Brownwood, TX, Vickie Carlson of Palestine, TX; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Don Hartman; and brothers, Edwin and Cotton O'dell.

May God bless you and your family, Nelda. I know how much you will miss you sweet mother and there will not be a day that goes by that you will not think of her. Sonny has been such a wonderful husband to her.
