James O. Mason Funeral services for James O Mason of Silsbee will be 4:00 pm Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the First Christian Church, 5290 N Caldwood Dr, Beaumont with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm Thursday until time of service. Mr. Mason was born July 5, 1920 in Dechart, TN and died July 9, 2013, at the age of 93. He lived the past 41 years in Silsbee TX, the Heaven of America, where the people are warm, hospitable and genuine. He enjoyed his daily walks and loved having coffee at McDonald University with his friends. He was a wonderful and personable man that never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. Jim honorably served in the 7th Army HQTR in Heidelberg Germany during WWII. He embarked and completed a successful career that started in 1948 in Tulsa, OK working for Sinclair Oil, which eventually merged with Atlantic Richfield, now known as ARCO. His career stretched over nearly four decades, leading him into retirement. Jim was preceded in death by his loving, sweet wife Margo Mason, parents James Mason and Annie Mae Baxter Mason, his brother Carter Mason, his older sister Colleen O'Connor and younger sister Billie Forsythe. A life well-lived produced and leaves behind his adoring daughter, Anne-Marie Furrey and husband Richard of Flagstaff AZ; granddaughter Jaclyn (Jacci) Furrey Morrison and husband Micah; three great grandchildren Michael, Tyler and Katelynn, all of Peoria AZ and daughter Eileen Mason Pike of Arizona and Silsbee. Friends and acquaintances are all welcome and encouraged to attend.
