Dear Sue and family. I had the joy of working and spending time with Bob in Saudi Arabia and he will be missed. He was a hard worker and he always took his work seriously ,but was able to enjoy his free time with a relaxed and easy demeanor. There are certain people that I have enjoyed more than others, and Bob was such a person. Farewell my friend.

Dear Olexa Family, I was so shocked and saddend to hear of Robert's passing. The Carney girls have such fond memories of our trips to Houston to see Mamaw and Papaw and visiting our cousins in Beaumont. Those were such fun times when all the cousins would get together, running thru Papaw's backyard, swinging on his makeshift swings under the pecan tree's or running thru Mamaw's living room and hearing all the tea cups rattling. When Robert made a trip to Chicago to visit the Carney family, that was so exciting for us because now someone was coming to visit us. We had such great times showing Robert Chicago and will always cherish those memories. He was such a sweet kind person and grew to have the same beloved looks and characteristics of our Papaw. Now Papaw, Mamaw,Sister Damien, and brother Michael will be taking him under their wings in Heaven. Our prayers go out to all family and friends whose hearts Robert touched.

I guess you don't have too many Pipers there in Texas, so tonight, here in Bahrain, I blew my Great Highland Bagpipes and played 'Flowers of the Forest' for Robert. This is the 'Last Post' of piping and is a fond farewell to an admired colleague and friend. 'Beannachd leat' my friend.

Dear Sue, Aunt Doris, Uncle Irwin and the Olexa cousins, I am so sorry for your loss of Robert. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and in memory of Robert. As with my sisters I also remember when Robert came to visit his Carney cousins that summer with Mammaw, Pawpaw and Sister Damien. I can remember the fun playing catch with Robert and Pawpaw and them coming to watch my little league baseball games. I am certain that Sister Damien is taking good care of Robert. Again my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. Love Kevin

Roberts passing saddens my heart and at the same time with a smile on my face of memories from high school. I can remember a large group of us sneaking into Showtown just so we could all be together, I don't even remember if we watched the movie. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle soul. To his family, I extend my deepest sympathy and prayers.

My Dear Sister-in-Christ,
You know how shocked I was when I read your email about Robert's sudden passing. You know that I've kept you and the entire Olexa family in my prayers. I never met Robert, but from talking and emailing with you, I KNEW he was a rock-solid Christian, how much you loved one another, and were in one accord in your faith in Jesus Christ. From reading all the messages, I have a clear picture of a very humble, well-respected man who will be missed by many. Prayers are still going up for all of you, but especially for you, Sue. I know God has His loving hands around you and will comfort you in the days ahead, and will direct your path. And, I KNOW that your faith will keep you strong.
Much love sent your way as well as our deepest sympathies for you and the entire family.

Aunt Doris, Uncle Irwin, Bill, Tim, Kathy & Jeffrey
The news of Robert was such a shock and a sad day. The memories or our trips to Houston to see all of our cousins was always a highlight in our lives in Dallas. So many good times shared, ones few people are blessed to have. Roberts trip to Chicago will remain a found memory, we sure loved seeing our Olexa cousins. All the kind words expressed about Robert are found in each and every one of you. I never knew Robert and I shared the same birthday. Every August 6th I will look to the heavens and wish him a happy birthday. My thoughts are with each and every one of you. Love Diane

Sue,
Reading the above entries, it is obvious Robert impressed many lifes with his gentle kindness and easy going nature.
I realised those traits during our time spent together in Doha, Qatar after leaving Saudi Arabia in 2003, both at work and the many relaxing times over dinners or at the golf course.
You have, no doubt, been blessed to have shared your life as his wife and friend. We here on earth have lost a wonderful soul, but it has been Heavens gain, which gives us such hope knowing he is there awaiting us.
So Robert until we meet again, God Bless.
