Cleola (Kitty) Virginia Sibley Genuardi, 78, of Nederland, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Born December 22, 1934, in Many, Louisiana Kitty was the daughter of Bessie and Ellis Sibley, and had been a resident of the area since 1954. Cleola worked as a registered nurse with Mid-Jefferson Hospital, Nederland, for over eighteen years before retiring. A longtime active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Kitty was a past president, past secretary and past treasurer of the Altar Society and a member of the Red Hats. Cleola is survived by her husband, Anthony Genuardi of Nederland; daughters, Lucia Marie Genuardi and Mary Elizabeth Genuardi, both of Nederland; sons, Robert Anthony Genuardi and his wife, Jeannette, of Lewisville; Paul Frank Genuardi of Newcastle, Oklahoma and John Kirkland Genuardi of Beaumont; grandchildren, Madeline Grace Genuardi, Lucia Nicole Genuardi and Roger Anthony Genuardi; sisters, Clara Anders of Lufkin, Frankie Piscitelli of Albany, New Mexico, and Elsie Carter and her husband, Jack, of Many, Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Lehr; and brothers, Robert Sibley and Ellis Ray Sibley. A Rosary will be recited 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at Broussard's Crematorium, 5150 Stivers Drive, Beaumont, with cremation to follow, under the direction of Brousssard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of Mrs. Genuardi's family and friends will begin 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m., followed by a committal service at Calvary Cemetery, Port Arthur. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Student Clerical Fund, or Altar Society, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627, or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Cure PSP, 30 East Padonia Road, Suite 201, Timonium, Maryland 21093. I also worked with Miss Genuardi at Mid-Jefferson Hospital from 1983-1994. She was a very energetic woman who cared deeply about people.
