1929 - 2014 Gladys C. Clayton, 85, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014. She was born on April 23, 1929, in Cedardale, Oklahoma, to Lena Gaber and John W. Sears, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Gladys was well-known for baking pies and loved singing in the choir and playing the piano. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and being a Sunday school teacher. Gladys was classy, gentle, and took pride in being a wife, grandma, great- grandma, and recently a great- great grandma. She is survived by her loving husband of 68+ years, John Clayton; daughters, Carolyn Brady and her husband, Joe, of Dallas; Patty Jo Howie and her husband, Colin, of Beaumont, and Holly Petrie and her husband, Daniel, of Vidor; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Sears and his wife, Ramona, of Toppenish, Washington. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dean Clayton; and four brothers. A gathering of Mrs. Clayton's family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2014, at Cedardale Cemetery, Mooreland, Oklahoma, under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Woodward, Oklahoma. 1943 - 2014 Joseph Paul Cassimere, 71, of Beaumont, TX, went from labor to reward, on Monday, December 15, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with entombment at Live Oak Memorial Park, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the church. His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife, Elaine Cassimere; son, Rev. Rufus Douresseau, Jr. (Lori); daughters, Lonzetta Wright (Donald) and Alaine Cuney (Curtis); sisters, Lou Whittington (Henry), Olivia Whittington, Florence Cassimere, Irma Tucker (Michael), Wilma Cassimere, and Juanita Cassimere; brother, Mitchell Cassimere; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Cardenas, Orlando O.  
1927 - 2014 Orlando O. Cardenas, 87, of Lumberton, died Thursday, December 11, 2014, in his home. He was born on March 27, 1927, in Cuba, to Yuillerisma Cardenas and Ramonorellanes Quellas. Orlando moved to the United States in 1962 and began working for James J. Flanagan Shipping and PC Pfeiffer the following year. He retired in 2013, after fifty years of service. He was cared for and considered family by the entire company. He is survived by his sister, Olga Moulies, of Miami Florida, and numerous friends and loved ones who will greatly miss him. A funeral service for Mr. Cardenas will be 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. Creed M.D., James Bennett  
1946 - 2014 James Bennett Creed, M.D., 68, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 13, 2014. He was born on May 6, 1946, to Lydia Melinda Thieleman and James Bennett Creed, in Port Arthur. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in Vietnam. Dr. Creed was a psychiatrist who enjoyed his job and was a great healer. He was an excellent listener and a very loving and kind person. He also enjoyed music and technology. Survivors include his wife, Virginia M. Creed and sister, Patsy Joan Creed of Katy. A gathering of Dr. Creed's family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue 5th Floor, Norwalk, Connecticut 06851 or to a charity of one's choice. Cloud, JoAnn "MeMe"  
1932 - 2014 JoAnn MeMe Cloud, 82, a lifelong resident of Beaumont, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014, in Beaumont. She was born on July 30, 1932, in Marion, Alabama, to her parents, James Clifton and Ella Dee Rhinehart Plummer, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Joe A. Cloud. Mrs. Cloud was a very faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church in Beaumont. She enjoyed music, dancing, and was a person that never met a stranger. She enjoyed meeting the needs of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the beauty of magnolia and poinsettia flowers. Surviving Mrs. Cloud are her three sons: James Allen Cloud and wife, Kathy of Lumberton, Ronny Cloud and wife, Christine of Orange, Brad Cloud of Winnie; daughter: Charlotte Burgin of Beaumont; sister: Faye Stewart and husband, Billy of Marion, Alabama; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 11:00 A.M. until service time of 2:00 P.M., at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
