Deacon Ben E. Williams, Sr., 93, of Beaumont, TX passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was a WW II Army
veteran who served his country proudly. He was retired from National Concrete. After retirement he worked as a school crossing guard. Deacon Williams leaves precious memories to his sons, Ben E. Williams, Jr., and Henderson L. Williams, II; daughters, Sheryl Scroggins, Cathy F. Chavis, Dr. Debra N. Williams, Verlinda Williams, and Muriel Shynett; brother, Henderson Williams; sister, Jerry Ruth Hooks; 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. The Celebration of Life services at the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church (3350 Washington Blvd.) on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 will begin with a visitation at 11 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. which will be officiated by Pastor Eddie J. McGriff. Deacon Williams will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rose Williams, at Live Oak Memorial Park under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
