1931-2016 FORT WORTH -- Dolores Martinez, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, February 13th, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends. Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Fort Worth. Memorials: The family asks that you please consider donations to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School, 1201 S. Cherry Lane, Fort Worth, Texas 76108. Dolores was born in Beaumont on December 31, 1931 to Carlos and Alejandra Martinez and attended Saint Anthony's Catholic High School, where she graduated in 1950. In June 1956, Dolores married her beloved husband, Joe Martinez and soon afterwards moved to Fort Worth where they began a new life that lead to a life of happiness and love filled with family and many friends. While raising her family, Dolores worked as an Administrative Assistant for Sea Sand Oil Company for 35 years where she remained until her retirement in 2003. A devoted Catholic, Dolores lived a life dedicated to her faith, family and friends. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her late husband, sons, sister, family, friends and mostly with her grandchildren. Dolores was a truly generous and gracious person that had a special kindness and unselfish attitude towards others. She has been a parishioner at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church since 1955, where she was very generous with her time and support with the church and school. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; son, John; and great-grandson, Alex Martinez. Survivors: Sons, Joe Martinez of Fort Worth, Gerald Martinez and wife, Ellen, of Frisco, Phillip Martinez and wife, Dulce, of Aledo, Daniel Martinez and wife, Dianna, of Benbrook; sister, Amada Collazo of Benbrook; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
